Two matches scheduled for 20th February 2026.

Following the rain earlier this week, the Over 70s World Cup Local Organising Committee (LOC) inspected a number of cricket blocks and outfields this morning to assess ground conditions.

After careful consideration, the decision has been made to relocate two matches, due to be played on Friday 20th February, to grass wickets to ensure play can proceed safely and to the best possible standard.

The updated venue details are as follows:

  • India v England will now be played at Mandeville #1

  • Canada v Rest of the World will now be played at Mandeville #2

All other fixtures remain unchanged. Matches scheduled at Christ’s College and Christchurch Boys’ High School will proceed as planned.

LOC Chairman, Lance Ryan says "A big Thank you to Mandeville Grounds people and staff for allowing us to play at their facility. I can assure teams that you enjoy your day out on hard and fast grounds. As a contrast some of the city grounds we inspected were just not suitable for play".

Teams, officials, and supporters are thanked for their flexibility and understanding as the LOC continues to manage conditions and prioritise player safety. Further updates will be shared should any additional changes be required.
